Asad ul Haq (born 07 November 1966) is one of the leading advertising filmmakers in Pakistan known for his stylish visuals and an obsession for detail.

In 1993, Asad established Ambience Films, a pioneering production company dedicated solely to making television commercials and that’s when he knew he was finally home. What started off as an ambition became a teaching umbrella for many art directors, production designers, and talent coordinators alike. By taking baby steps and learning the hard way; struggling to break the existing norms, Asad’s dedication and ingenuity transformed Ambience Films from a small to a full-fledge production house whose clientele now includes national and international advertisers in Pakistan. He became a leader in the Pakistani commercial industry, directing countless ads and building up an impressive résumé over the years.
With a unique persona and striking visual style incorporating a detailed approach to production design and innovative, atmospheric lighting, his work has been influential on a subsequent generation of young filmmakers in the country. Asad gives a sober-painterly touch to material and has the ability to turn a mundane picture into beauty with his grandiose directorial style. Pensive, imaginative and beautiful, Asad’s films subscribe to an approach that might best be described as graceful, passionate, adventurous and visually elegant. His work stands responsible for his well-regarded critical reputation in Pakistan, making him truly one of the most distinctive advertising filmmakers of the decade.
