Omin-talented film director & mulit-skilled motion graphics designer with a broad reach of creative talent and experience. Coming from a hugely artistic family background, with both parents actively involved in the arts, Gideon made his first 90 second film short at the tender age of 8yrs, of which the Hampstead & London Film Gazette wrote: ‘Brief but outstanding. Sure to go on to do something’. A seemingly defined path led to the basement of St.Martins School of Art (Now the University of Arts, London) where the film unit was located. He escaped three years later, just, with an Honors degree majoring in film & film graphics. Through a modicum of luck and masses of tenacity he had the good fortune to meet the massively talented designer/director Pat Gavin, becoming his personal assistant at London Weekend Television. Blazing a trail into the heart of London’s burgeoning broadcast graphics, the slingshot into an emergent high-end post-production field afforded the perfect opportunity to learn complex production applications & techniques. Drawing upon an innate visual flare he worked upon notable and award winning projects, such as title sequences for the ‘Southbank Show’ and ‘Poiroit’, amongst others.
As comfortable with a million dollar budget as managing with limited resources, Gideon seeks improvement and solutions through the exchange of ideas. With a base of experience gained in England, he’s also had the privilege of having filmed in many far-flung locations. Including; barren deserts of the Middle East, windswept shores of South Africa, jungle heartlands of South East Asia and, a bridge in Humberside. His work combines unquestionable reality with invisible post-production enrichment. Engaging an inherent capacity for storytelling, drawing subtle and real nuance from actors. His focus is inclined towards performance & detail. Always looking to expand his knowledge by exploring new and exciting avenues for film as a medium of expression within a commercial interest, as well as a personal one.
